A player who has listened to every bit of advice from our seasoned props and after 14 months with the Ath is starting to outgun so really gnarly opposition. A hugely bright future with mainly the 2's next year and hopefully 1st XV not long after

Player of the Year - Alan Lee

Has been there for the Ath whenever needed, is selfless in letting some of the newer guys have a game, Has played for 1st XV, 2's & 3's this year and has been superb all year. To quote Kyle "when he stepped up to help us out in the 1st XV he didn't just hold his own he was excellent and there were a few suprised faces from the opposition." Also has helped Bill Camm hugely.

2nd Team

Most Improved - Matt Finch

Matt has been an absolute star for the Ath this year. He is insanely enthusiastic, and great company and also just very small......but...the first time he played for the 2nd Team v Hinckley 4's their big number 8 ran at Matt....Big smile on the 8's face....well he is probably more than twice Matt's weight and mostly muscle....dropped shoulder...here comes the bosh....EHH? WTF? Mr Number 8 is eating Humble Mud Pie face down after being dumped by our 9 Mr Finch...classic. Matt has brought many players to the club and played for all 3 teams and his mix of darting runs, very good passing (er and a bit of dodgy kicking) has created a great platform for the 2's. Sadly Matt is off up North next year back 'ome t' Wigan so we will only see him rarely. Unless someone can find him a job in the Nuclear Power Industry near here. Thanks Matt keep in touch.
